- As 2020 is fast approaching, I have been thinking about what I would like to be doing for this new year, so in this post I'm going to share some more information about what I'm working on, and what you can expect to see from Sophie Bridgland Art next year.
First off, I have started a youtube channel where I plan to show more studio films of my artwork in creation, as well as exhibition videos and more in-depth explanations into my art collections. I thought this would be a nice idea, considering not everyone can make it to my exhibitions, and so this way they can get to see what they missed out on!
I will leave the link to my channel below, so please subscribe to my channel if you would like to see more!: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfsGDCprXbmEJk3xiy7sIcA
Since this is only the beginning, I will only be uploading videos now and then when I have something to share. If you have any suggestions of things that might be of interest, please let me know as this would be really helpful, and encouraging!
- The main project however for 2020, will be my new portrait collection called "Image" that I'm in the middle of creating right now. This has been one of the most challenging set of paintings that I've done so far, but I'm hoping that it will result in my most varied, unique and interesting exhibition yet. With paintings based on photographs of real people, I am aiming to capture these people in a recognisable way, but still allowing myself to be expressive and be true to my art style.
There will be two exhibitions for this collection, one in Brighton at Gallery 40 from June 08 to the 14th, and another at an open house - art exhibition near Reading, Berkshire (Dates yet to be released).
I will start releasing images and information about this project and the exhibitions at the start of 2020, so make sure to be signed up to my mailing list and follow me on social media to keep updated.
- I will be hosting another open-house art exhibition back in Reading, Berkshire in March 2020. This will be a chance to view my nature-based original canvas paintings in the flesh, as well as purchase work. There will also be prints and gift cards for sale at a variety of prices. Again, the final dates will be released soon.
- Lastly, I am taking commissions this year, so if you or anyone you know would like an original artwork, specifically designed for you and your home, please get in touch and I will get back to you!
I'm looking forward to everything this coming year holds for Sophie Bridgland Art. As a small business, I rely on the support of others to help me do this full time. Even if you are unable to purchase artwork, just by sharing my art on your social media or spreading the word about my exhibitions, it makes such a huge difference and I really appreciate it.
I hope everyone has a happy Christmas, and if you haven't yet purchased your Christmas cards or gifts for the family, be sure to check out what's available in my shop!
