"Living the life" is inspired by a photograph I took while walking around Ovingdean, a beautiful village to the east of Brighton. The sun was shining, and all the cows had come up to the fence to say hello, and I was thinking how lucky they were to get to spend all day in the sun in the open countryside. For me, this painting always takes me back to that memory, which was so peaceful and special. I wanted to capture the vibrancy of the colours, and the intensity of the light, hoping to create something that replicates that uplifting feeling of being beneath large blue skies and no where to be.
